HOKA ONE ONE Clifton Edge Multiple Tester Review

The HOKA ONE ONE Clifton Edge brings a new line of training to the table. This shoe is marketed as a slightly lighter and faster uptempo Clifton. In some ways the the Clifton Edge accomplishes this, and misses the mark in others. Overall the shoe is an interesting concept for a road only shoe and worth at least giving it a stride at the local running store.

Skechers GOrun MaxRoad 4+ Multiple Tester Review

Editor's Note: Version 5 is out now! Find our review of the Skechers MaxRoad 5 here.

The Skechers GOrun MaxRoad 4+ is Skechers' unique take on a high milage/maximalist road shoe. This shoe is primarily an update to the MaxRoad 4 upper, which was critiqued for being too warm and not supportive enough. The great thing about Skechers Performance is that they truly listen to feedback from the running community (and reviewers like us). Therefore, the MaxRoad 4+ sports a more traditional feeling mono-mesh and polyester upper, which certainly changed the way this shoe felt during runs. Otherwise it keeps much of the same underneath, including a hunk of HYPERBURST with an aggressive rocker shape and a podular outsole. Let's dive in.

Asics Metaracer Multi-Tester Review

Asics often waits to jump onto new trends until they ready to put their own spin on it. The Metaracer is just that. The lightweight, carbon fiber plated racer is Asics answer to the direction many racing shoes are going in the current market. As with tradition though, they have stuck to what they know best: creating lightweight fast racing shoes that tend to be a little closer to the ground. The Metaracer features plenty of cushioning for a light racing shoe, features a unique upper designed for performance and a bottom loaded plate. A great racing shoe, but very different from the other max cushioned distance racers worth talking about.

Newton Kismet 6 Review

Many years ago, the first Newton review on this website was the original Newton Kismet. A light stability introduction model to the Newton line, the Kismet 6 continues on as a solid stability model. The spirit of the shoe remains, while some interesting upgrades follow the progression of the Fate 6 (REVIEW), the neutral sibling to the Kismet.

Mizuno Wave Sky Waveknit 4 Multiple Tester Review

The Wave Sky underwent a huge overhaul when it reached its third iteration last year with the loss of the infamous wave plate and introduction of XPOP foam. The Wave Sky 4 is another step forward, but carries much of what people grew to love in the Wave Sky 3. This shoe incorporates 3 midsole foams that work in concert with one another, including the first full length Mizuno ENERZY midsole. This shoe emphasizes comfort, cushion, and durability for lots of miles.
